Aspire Science Challenge Winners

Our school staff and children got involved with Science Week in a variety of different ways this year, one of which was the Aspire Inter-School Design Challenge.

As part of their remote learning, children were asked to design a product that could be used around the house to make their life (or their families lives) easier.

The children got really involved with the challenge and came up with some fantastic ideas. All designs were really imaginative and a lot of thought and effort went into them, so thank you to everyone that took part.

Each school chose a winning design. Congratulations to the school winners, Noah in Year 3 at Bovingdon Academy, Rebecca in Year 4 at Bedmond Academy, Fola in Year 4 at Knutsford Primary Academy, Sharvesh at The Grove Academy and Nehir who is in Year 2 at Hammond Academy.

Each winner's entry also got put forward to be considered for the overall Trust winner. All entries were un-named, did not show which school they were from and were judged by a consortium of adults across the Trust.

The overall winning design was from Nehir. Congratulations Nehir, The Rainbot is a brilliant invention!

THINGS TO DO WITH CHILDREN IN HERTFORDSHIRE DURING THE EASTER HOLIDAYS

There have been sightings all around the grounds of Ashridge House and mysterious golden eggs appearing > 11th Apr - 18th Apr | Easter Adventures in Nature | Berkhamsted | £3 There are 10 trail points for you to find around Ashridge Estate, each with a different fun activity. You will discover what’s so special about this area in spring, and earn a delicious Rainforest Alliance chocolate egg. > 10th Feb - 19th Apr | The Big Hoot | Hemel Hempstead | free This exciting trail will see 12 individually designed Big Hoot owls placed around Hemel Hempstead town centre, Old Town, Gadebridge Park and the Water Gardens for everyone to see and enjoy. > 10th Apr- 18th Apr | Easter at Aldenham Country Park  | Bushey | £7.50 After a two year hiatus Easter returns, bigger and better than ever. Discover frightfully fun offerings such as; the Easter Egg Hunt, Hoppy Hay Tractor Ride, Dance Tunnel, Bouncy Castle, Bear Hunt, decorations throughout the farm and much more! > 15th Apr- 18th Apr | Easter Trail at Knebworth House  | Knebworth | £1 Follow the Trail around Knebworth Gardens to gather all the Easter clues and solve the word jumble. There will also be a craft activity available between 12pm and 3pm.         This ticket will include access to Knebworth Park, Gardens, Adventure Playground with Fort Knebworth and Dinosaur Trail.
