Things to do during the Easter Holidays with children in Hertfordshire
If you are looking for a few ideas for things to do with your children over the 2021 Easter Holidays, we have pulled together a list of Hertfordshire activities local to the 6 schools in Aspire Academies Trust.
Not all events have been tried and tested by us, so please do read more detail about them on their own websites and keep an eye on any updates as things may change due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Bowerbirdy, together with Watford Borough Council are hosting a range of free, fun and challenging online activities during the Easter School holidays for children and young people aged from 5 to 15. Due to the current government guidelines they will be providing free activities for 6 children per session in the parks and woodlands of Watford. All activities must be pre booked in advance via their schedule page.
Follow Alice down the rabbit hole and into the beautiful private gardens at Ashridge House for their Easter Trail. You will be given clues to locate Alice, her friends and objects from the Alice in Wonderland story within their magical gardens and woodlands.
Crack the clues and search for the dragon eggs on the quest boards as you explore their outdoor trail through the gardens. Intrepid explorers who track down the hatched dragon will be rewarded with a chocolate treat and a certificate.
Join in the fun at the Audley End Miniature Railway and visit their very own Easter Bunny at his Spring Home in the woods! Their Easter Special is a 2.5/3 hour experience and includes a train ride, visit to the Easter Bunny, special gift and magical Easter trail. The children will also receive an activity booklet to complete and can enjoy their Adventure Playground.
Join them this Easter for all inclusive Family Fun including an Easter Egg Hunt, Easter Grotto, adorable animals, brand new shows, funfair rides, adventure play and Easter biscuit decorating. All included in the admission price.
From 1st - 4th April, St Lawrence Church in Bovingdon are hosting an Easter Egg Hunt. Find one of the eggs hidden around the village and bring to the church on Sunday 4th to swap it for a chocolate one.
Sign up to the Lion Trail Easter Challenge and with the aid of your phone’s location tracking, find answers to the 20 clues at the locations marked by a lion. Send them your answers by Monday 5th April to win an egg.
The people of Piggottshill have been creative and decorated their windows with Easter eggs to spot. Some of the eggs have letters, so find all the eggs and work out the hidden message. They will be on display from 4.30pm on Saturday 20th March to Monday 5th April.
Egg hunts, spring time gymnastics assault courses, beautifully decorated garden and an Easter gift for every child, this will make your bank holiday weekend one to remember.
To celebrate Easter in their 25th Anniversary Year, they are giving you a map and sending you on a hunt around their 82 acre Park. There will be 25 silver egg posters to find, a letter on each one to help you solve their Easter themed anagram. Entries can then be entered into their prize draw! Maps and quiz sheets will be downloadable or available to collect from the Visitor Centre from the 6th to the 9th April.
