Chris Todhunter retires from Knutsford Primary Academy after 15 years at the school
We recently had the pleasure of speaking with Chris Todhunter, who has just retired after working in schools for over 35 years.
How long have you worked at Knutsford Primary Academy?
I have been in the kitchen at Knutsford Primary Academy for over 15 years, but I have been working in schools for 35 years. For the last 2 years, the school has been part of Aspire Academies Trust, which has just been the best. I really have had lots of support and encouragement within my role, from on-line training to a personal development plan.
What have you most enjoyed about the role?
I have honestly enjoyed everything I have done and achieved within the kitchen, including learning new skills and recipes and of course the technology to complete on-line training. This really has built up my confidence with technology.
I have especially enjoyed seeing the pupils grow up through the years, from Reception to Year 6. You really start to get to know them and their personalities... and of course, their likes and dislikes.
What will you miss the most?
The team. I have had the pleasure of working with four fantastic girls for quite a long time, it will be hard not seeing them every day. I will certainly be popping back to check on them in the future.
What are you most looking forward to about retirement?
Just having some me time and spending time in my garden, weather permitting of cause.
Thank you so much for all of your hard work and effort over the years Chris, from everyone at Aspire Academies Trust.
